I am trying to match a linetype and weight that we currently use in AutoCAD. It is a 2HR firerated line. It is a very thick dashed line with text inside of every dash to show the extent of the fire rated walls. How can I create something similar in REVIT 2009. Thanks.

Actually, I can't even figure out how to add a weight to a regular dashed line. Under the line element properties itonly gives you an option to pick wide vs dashed line. What if I want a wide dashed line?? I was thinking I could just fake it for now with a thick dashed line with text inside the dashes, but I can't even do that?? Thanks again.

Regards Peter.

You can't create a linetype in Revit that uses text (as far as I know). Only dots and dashes.
I have created a similar element using the "generic model - line based" family template. Set it up to array a group of lines and model text. This works for straight "lines." It gets more complicated with curves.

Here is an example of something similar. It works OK, but could probably use some tweaking.

here's a similar thread; talks about using a repeating detail to create a complex linetype with text.
