Nested hyperlinked drawings
Hi guys.
Does anyone have experience of calling a drawing via a hyperlink in another drawing that was called via hyperlink in yet another drawing and continuing in this way to a total of about 15 levels (possibly more)?
Each drawing would contain multiple links to different drawings in the next level below.
Any problems? Any limits?
Oops. This should have been in the Acad support forum.
Re: Nested hyperlinked drawings
Nope. I've used hyperlinks in probably one drawing which contain multiple hyperlinks to other drawings only.
Re: Nested hyperlinked drawings
I've gone down four levels so far with no problems. Not that I can imagine why there should be problems.
Re: Nested hyperlinked drawings
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "via a hyperlink in another drawing". Does that mean you are just clicking on the links or are you somehow referencing the link?

It's a cascade. One item leads to multiple items. Each of these items is accompanied by a block with a hyperlink to new drawing where the process is repeated.
It works fine in this direction. The only problem appears to be when going backward, up the cascade, when sometimes the original file is simply brought to the front but sometimes another copy of it is opened. Even this is okay unless mods to the higher level drawing are required.
