I have been using SSM for a few years now with no problems till now. When I select 'new sheet set..' I get [ssm error 1] to start as normal. Press 'next' and I get [ssm error 2] where I fill out the name & 'store sheet..' is already filled in. Press 'next' then the first error message [ssm error 3] and after I press 'ok' the next error pops up [ssm error 4]. As I said, this only happens when I want to create a new sheet set. I can add new sheet, open drawings from ssm and publish as normal.
Have you checked in Windows Explorer to see if you can access the Dropbox folder?
Looks like you do not have write access to that folder.
Try a different location (such as c:\temp) as a test.
Changed the directory to one I know I have write access to and I still get those errors. I can still access/change any .dst file I have created, just not create new ones.. something changed and I have no idea what. I haven't changed the way I've been doing things for the past few years.
Instead of creating a new Sheet Set, can you copy an existing Sheet Set to that location, rename it, open it in AutoCAD, remove the existing linked/grayed/missing sheets, and add that projects Sheets?
This seems like a permissions issue; I see that you're creating/saving to C:\, but that doesn't mean there's not still an AD, or perhaps Dropbox? permission limitation... More information is needed.
Cheers
I've searched the net, and the only suggestion I could find was to repair AutoCAD. That is, assuming you have write rights to the folder.
:beer::beer:
It's a permissions thing, not AutoCAD or SSM.
Can you create or edit a file in that location using any other app?
The drawing files and .dst files that I create do not reside on my local hard drive but in the cloud (dropbox). That's what I have been doing since starting work here. This hasn't been a problem till now. Am I using dropbox incorrectly or has a setting changed that I need to look at? I think I know just enough about dropbox to be dangerous..
Have you tried exiting Dropbox first, then creating a new Sheet Set in that folder? Without Dropbox running it may be just a regular folder. Of course then it wouldn't put the Sheet Set in the cloud. No telling what would happen next time Dropbox was running again.
If that's what your goal is why not use Autodesk 360?
That's not how Dropbox works. It creates a folder on your hard drive and labels it "Dropbox". Then a program runs in your system tray that watches the folder for any changes. If you add a file, the service copies the file to your online Dropbox account. If you modify a file it is copied to dropbox.com as well. In your png from the second post, the "Dropbox" folder is located at "C:\Users\fivestarjasonb\dropbox". Open that folder in Windows Explorer and test if you can create a file there by rt+clk>New>Text Fiile. When using the folder in AutoCAD, you may need to make sure that you are logged into Dropbox first.
On 12/15/2016 I recieved notice from Dropbox "Your Public folder will soon become a private folder".
Don't know if it had any affect on it. The way they describe it I thought is would only affect others access online, but who knows.
