Can Inventor 10 users open Inventor 11 files?
I am looking at migrating from AutoCAD to Inventor 11 but most of the contractors I interface with have Inventor 10. Can Inventor 10 users open Inventor 11 files? Is there a conversion in Inventor 11 that will allow me to send files so that Inventor 10 users can open?

Hi "jon_h26" ( Sorry, i do not know your real name )
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the Local User Groups forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

RE: Can Inventor 10 users open Inventor 11 files?
sorry pall
but Inventor is not downgradeble - meaning that an earlier version can not read out files from a higher version, (only 6 could read out 7). So inventor 10 can not read inventor 11 files.
Is it only to view, your clients can download Inventor View 11 for free, so you can view, and print yout files.
If you have a subsciption licence you are allowed to use inv10 although you bought inv11
And if you really want to exchange - you can export from inv11 the model to SAT or STEP files, and import those in inv10 - but parametric intelligence will be lost, same with drawings - you could export them to dwg.
