New PC, possibly install Linux, thoughts, comments...
I'm about to come into posession of a new PC(My OH's Dad is offloading his old P4 on us... what a shame :D)
My OH is going to let me load AutoCAD onto it so I can play at home as I'm not finding enough time in the office to teach myself what I want.
He's been investigating Linux and possibly using a non Microsoft platform.
Does anyone have any recommendations or hints and tips when setting this up? Is Linux a good or bad choice?
RE: Starting from Scratch
Wel Linux has a good rep as a platform.
But for professional use with AutoCad and stuff I'l stick with windows, for the standard of it.
Also from what i've heard, is that with the new Windows Vista there will be a lot of change on the apple front as well. Where an ms office will be able to run on macOS, windows and mac run as dual boot and things like that
