Text Leader Origin Flexibility
I often need to add a separate leader to text because the built-in leaders are too far away from the text. Apparently, there is a reason (?) but I've never seen the leader origin TOO close to the text. Flexibility would, I think, satisfy a lot of different personal styles and instance requirements.

Good one Geof
Leader flexibility would be good. And, if I can add a further comment without going off topic would be the ability to create new arrow styles using your own or created graphic for things like spot levels
RE: Text Leader Origin Flexibility
I'd like to be able to tell revit which line of text to project the leader from...
For example, when I have multiple lines of text and the leader is pointing to the right (from the left side of the text note), I've always run the leader from the last line of text (see attached image)...and that, as I understand it, is a standard "rule" in drafting. Revit doesn't do it this way and I'm not aware of a way to change it...
Text Leaders Near Its Text
I think this may have been posted, but I couldn't find it. I've been using Revit for years and still haven't figured out why those darn leaders are so far away from the text. I often place my own "textless" leaders so people can read the notes well. (My "own" textless leaders are leaders w/1/256" text, so I put in a period that is too small to see).
RE: Text Leaders Near Its Text
can you post a pic of what you're talking about? Leaders look fine to me, except that there isn't a "blank" leader tool for an arrow w/o text.
RE: Text Leaders Near Its Text
My issue with leaders comes mostly from the lack of user control over positioning, or origin.
RE: Text Leader Origin Flexibility
ah yes I see that... I have done it that way myself when I used to hand draft in school, or use those "other" CAD programs :p But I've seen alot of veteran architects do it the same way that Revit does it. I don't mind it.
