schedule areas of linked buildings

I am doing a campus like project with 5 rvt file of individual building linked to a central site rvt. Is there any way I can make schedule of building area of these 5 linked buildings in the central site rvt? From my test, revit can only generate area schedule for model which is native but not linked one. Anyone have some good idea on this? Thank you!

When creating your schedule, there's an option to include elements from the linked files. Have you checked if that option is there available for areas as well?
