View Category?
Greetings,
How do you use View categories? I have made a couple - groupings of Resource Drawings, and my new sheets are set to use a template. It looks like the View category sets the resource drawing group to use in sheets, or subsets of sheets. But I cant figure out how to "Place in Sheet" a view category. "Place in Sheet" is only available in the Resource Drawings tab (after making a new sheet).
???
Thanks,
Kevin.

View categories are set in the View dialog, at the time the view is created. The list may be empty initially, but you can type a new category in the combo box.

RE: View Category?
Thanks. I think I worded my question incorrectly. How do you use View Categories in New Sheets? The view categories appear to group resource drawings into logical design categories. I thought you would be able to start a new sheet then "Place in sheet" a view category - but I cant find this function. The only "Place in sheet" I can find is - right-click on a resource drawing. How do you "apply/insert" view categories to sheets or sheet subsets?
Cheers,
Kevin.

RE: View Category?
Aha!! I have something missing!! The resource drawings have views, but when I add them to the view category the category is an empty. It looks like I am missing a step. I have named views, but I think I am missing sheet views. How do I make sheet views?
Thanks,
Kevin.

Open a sheet from the SSM.
Go to the Resource Tab.
Select a view, right-click on it, and add it to the sheet.
Once you have done this, the view will be listed in the View tab.
View categories are useful to organize the list of views on the View tab once they are placed from a resource drawing. They also permit you to use different callout blocks per category.
