Creating standard mappings for content
I am in the process of creating a network license deployment for Viz 2008. Before in Viz 2007 we had a custom 3dsviz.ini file that we put into the .Installation directory. that premapped the network locations of our standard content. Now the 3dsviz.ini is automatically stuffed into the Local Settings for each user, and is a pain to manipulate for a network sms push. Any ideas how I can crack this? I have tried to change the maxdata folder location in the .ini to my installation directory, and for some reason it creates a new .ini file in the user' local settings upon first startup of viz. Are there other files that I need to manipulate. Not a viz user, just a guy that gets to install the program on everyones computer.

I know this would be another layer, but look into using inno setup to build an exe that contains the ini file needed. You can have inno setup tell the exe to place it in a specific location for the user currently logged onto XP. I use inno a lot!
Re: Creating standard mappings for content
Talking to our network guy I guess he can build the ini. into the msi file for the installation. Somehow he can rebuild the .msi to include files that have been manipulated post admin image build. When it comes all the installs we usually make an admin image, configure ini and other custom files, and then give him everything to rebuild it into a silent install and magically it works. I figure don't ask, and he always comes through.
