wires or no wires for circuiting
Hello,
I am very new in revit. In our office we do not
show the wires between light fixtures. We just
show a homerun in one fixture and label it with
the panel name & circuit number. We just then identity
the other fixtures with the circuit number that belongs
to that homerun.
Question:
Will this work with revit mep? Should I tell my boss
that we have to show the wires so that revit can do
whats its suppose to do (panel schedules, etc)...Or
not showing wires will still work with revit.
Please advice...Thanks.
Re: wires or no wires for circuiting
It will work just fine. When you create the circuit, you will add the fixtures to the circuit. From that point on, all of the loads are tied into that circuit. Although I haven't actually tried it, you should be able to take a homerun from an adjacent circuit, tie it into a fixture in the first circuit, and the primary homerun will bump up to show both circuits, all without any other wiring being shown.
And as a side note, I am pretty jealous of not having to show wiring between light fixtures...
Re: wires or no wires for circuiting
Brad,
Thanks. Good to know that...Yeah they decided not to show
the wires for about a year now. The projects gets finished faster
& "if" architect moves light location, we just move the text
(circuit number).

Man I'm jealous. We have to show wires AND junction boxes AND conduit.
