how a door reads in plan ( i changed a double door which each leaf swings to a double fixed)

i opened an existing door that i'm using, saved as "fixed" and rotated the symbolic lines 90 to be closed and deleted the swing . In plan the symbolic lines represent the 2" thick door.However, when i load into project the fixed door in plan appears to have 5" thick doors.

and another thing.....as mentioned i selected the existing door family to edit (make fixed), it is to the left in the elevation and i noticed in the elevation that the door is shorter and i cant seem to make it taller ( why is that?)....changed height in properties and even went back to the "fixed door" family and changed there as well

Regarding plan view, perhaps your symbolic line of the door has attached itself to a reference plane inside your family... (perhaps the centerline of wall)
Try to break this relationship. Also try to place a dimension constraint on the two lines that make up the leaf thickness.

Regarding elevation view, i would have to see the family to understand more.
