Text on wrong layer

Autocad MEP 2013
I have just started using 2013 and have noticed that when I label a circuit, the text goes on the current layer instead of the layer it should.
I have not had this problem with 2010, (didn't use 2011 or 2012, they didn't work with my modifications). Am I doing something wrong or is it a quirk in 2013?

Sounds similar to my recent issue (referring to MEP 2013 layer key styles post a while back) - anyways - My issue was fixed when I installed the new patch. Have you installed the new patch?

I installed the latest update-no glory. Is this the patch you were speaking of?

Yeah - that'd be the one - Not sure what else to suggest other than to make sure your layer key style is assigned in the drawing but I suspect you've already done that.
