AutoCAD 2002 - Export block with an in-bedded map to carry map through into a .3DS

How can I reliably get an Acad2002 block with an in-bedded map to carry that map through into a .3DS file & show up in a final rendering produced in VIZ3?

I'm certain it can be done as some of my test blocks have over the years shown the map when used by someone else (they of course have no idea what they did).

I feel like I'm missing something basic. So basic that I don't know to look for it.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.
