Door Styles
Working with ACA 2008.
I am working on cleaning up some door styles and making a good template.
Can anyone tell me why these door styles don't generate in elevation properly? When I erase the third style (Ext-FrArch) the second one (Ext-Fr) generates right. As you can see, the model/rendered view is correct.
Any suggestions?

Re: Door Styles
I didn't get much help on this one but I have figured it out...to a point.
Attached is a DWG with some door styles. Only one problem now, I am trying to create these doors using a standard profile and each with a custom "insert" (make as simple as possible). In order for it to generate properly in elevation I need to merge the door material's line work. Problem is, for a double door, merging the material means that the line between the doors doesn't generate in elevation. Any way to avoid this without either opening the door slightly or adding another custom block?

Re: Door Styles
Can you create a gap between the two door leaves, say 1/8"?

Re: Door Styles
That would work, but can you create a "gap" between a double door?

Re: Door Styles
I don't think elevations were intended to be generated perfectly. That's why there's a line merge tool. Why not just draw the line in, and merge it to you elevations manually?

Re: Door Styles
That's crazy talk (I hope)! The less I have to edit the faster jobs get done, isn't that the whole point?
Here is where I am on the styles now. I figured out the line between the doors and have the swing show properly now. A few more tweaks and I'll have it all right and just need to insert a door for it to generate in elevation and render properly.

Re: Door Styles
You are right- get it done once and done for good.
Those doors sure are detailed. What if you decide on a different shaped lever?

Re: Door Styles
My plan is to create a number of levers. The levers are added to the doors as blocks so if I insert a different lever into the drawing as a block with the same name it will change them all at once. If I just want to change one I just replace that block on that door. That's the plan for now.
I am looking for some more lever styles if anyone has any they want to share. There doesn't seem to be a lot a lot of pre-modeled styles out there that I can find.

Re: Door Styles
My goal is also to be able to put a door in a wall and have it ready to render. Here is a straight ACA render (few seconds to render) of the styles in the PDF above.
