MText Formatting in Field
I have a field that is looking at an object which is a piece of Mtext. I want the Mtext content to show up in the Field but not any of the extra formatting. please look at the pictures and see exactly what I am talking about. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on the matter.

Re: MText Formatting in Field
I did a little test and I was able to reproduce what you're seeing, and how to have it work as you'd expect it should ... but I'm not quite sure how to explain it.
I created a piece of MText using whatever text style I had as the current style. Then I created a second one with its contents as a field that referred to the first one as an object and set the property to shows as its contents. All was fine. Mtext 2 showed the same text as Mtext 1. Then I opened Mtext one with the mtext edit, selected the text and chose a new font from the ribbon. Doing that produced all the formatting in Mtext 2. Reselecting the text in Mtext 1 and then choosing a text style fixed it. So, it seems the formatting of the object text needs to be defined by a text style and not formatted in any other way within the mtext editor.
Re: MText Formatting in Field
MMccall,
Thank you so much it worked, I did not think about if the Text Style was overridden what that would do to the field. So it is confirmed if any overrides are done to the Mtext beyond the text style the content in a Field does not work correctly.
