I am trying to create a custom subassembly from a polyline; but there are some problems in the process. From blogs and online community I realized many of these problems are common. let's share experience and thoughts....

* I cannot Add Shape to two particular subassemblies I've created. I have tried any possible sequence for choosing Links when adding shape, and deleted/recreated the polylines several times, none were successful

* I cannot select and assign the code "Datum" to the link at the very bottom of the pavement (under Aggregate layer). Whenever I click on the edge of the assembly, the Shape gets selected

* In general, do we need to Code every Point/Link/Shape we create to improve Corridor/Surface modeling? Is there any general recommendation for assigning Points/Links/shapes and their respective Codes??

any idea/insight on the issues I mentioned above??
