Default NavisWorks Manage 2010 64 bit Animation Problems

I'm having problems with animations from NavisWorks Manage 2010. I have a 1 minute walkthrough of MEP coordination project rendered with Open GL at 10 FPS, and the .avi file is massive 1.240,671 KB. It plays really jerky in the windows media player the first time through... don't know if it is just loading or what, then it does smooth out.

I made another walkthrough of a slightly bigger MEP project, that is a 3 minute animation rendered with open GL at 10FPS and that .avi file is 4,194,304 KB with jerky playback and a crazy split screen look. It recorded something completely different than the animation I had set up. Screen view is attached to this post.

I have tried creating both multiple times, created new empty animations and transferred viewpoints the new animation ( I had to do this with Manage 2009 to correct animation glitches and it worked). Nothing seems to work.

Both projects are small and are very simple walkthroughs with only a few viepoints so I'm not sure what is driving the massive file sizes on the animation export or creating the split screen look.

    Any ideas or similar experiences?

Update to my previous post. The fix is to save back to 2009 navisworks file version and export the animation from the old version of the software. It worked fine...

file sizes compared to those noted above are 130,583 KB and 357,641 KB respectively.

Please keep me posted if anyone has similar experiences with the 2010 software and let me know if there is a fix. I will contact subscription support with the issue also.

    This from Autodesk support:

The size 1.240,671 KB is very large and appears to be uncompressed. By default, AVI animations are set to Full Frames (Uncompressed), please try using a different compressor:
    - Select File > Export > Animation
    - Next Format > Windows AVI, please click the Options button.
    - Try using a different Compressor, such as Cinepak Codec by Radius with compression quality set to 100.

This should produce a high-quality video that is about 5% of an uncompressed file.
If this still fails, please try another compressor such as Intel Indeo(R) Video R3.2 or Indeo video 5.10

The following article describes how to generating high-quality animations of compact size:

I hadn't gone to the compression level of options in 2010. I didn’t have the same compression choices in 2010 that I had in 2009 and as noted above. First I tried IYUV codek and that didn’t work. Then I tried Microsoft Video 1 and that worked. The file were only 212,755 KB and 784,075 KB no split screen and played fine.

I use the K-Lite Mega Codec pack and encode using divx or xvid. But navis 2010 cant see it - 2009 can. All 2010 can see is the standard useless codecs - yuv, indeo etc. Do I need a 64bit codec perhaps?

Edit, I installed the latest version of the K-Lite codec pack full (4.8.0), but still no proper codecs available within navis 2010.

I usually export as a high quality avi then re-encode to the required lower quality using Vertualdub. Here are the codecs I have available in Vertualdub, I should have then in navis 2010 aswell.

    OS: Vista Ultimate 64bit

Can anyone see more than the standard 4 codecs within navis?
