Question Best Practice - Body Modifiers / Endcaps

I have attached two situations where I have used body modfiers instead of endcaps to finish of a wall condition. I have used edit in place endcaps but it seem to me that I will end up with so many endcap styles that it will get unmanageable. So in these cases I have just used Body Modifiers. Am I getting myself into trouble not coming up with special endcaps for these one time conditions?

My personal preference would be to use endcaps, for the one offs you can edit in place and assign to a new style.

One problem you may have with using body or plan modifiers is when you have to make any amenments, moving windows/doors around an opening endcap will obviously move with the window or door, a modifier will not. You can also update encaps globally when they occur several times.

Just out of interest, the wall on the left you have used two wall styles side by side, one for the masonry cavity wall and one for the wall finish, why not make it as a single wall style, just curious.

I agree with Steve, use endcaps. They aren't that difficult to work with once you figure out the tricks. You shouldn't have that many endcap styles. Just name them well enough so you know which is which. As Steve said, if a special condition happens, you can easily modify one and rename it.

Thank you for your replies. I will work on becoming more comfortable with creating multiple endcaps. As far as using multiple walls styles to produce one wall, that was a test to see if it would work without cleanup errors. It did.

    Thanks again

Just curious (also), what would be the point of doing that? Why not just use one wall style?
