how would you apply 4" wide vertical continuous top to bottom corner trim?
so where ever your wall styles turn a corner there needs to be a 4" wide vertical trim piece...
is it a wall style option or an entity applied separately?

If I understand you correctly, you want to place vertical trim at all interior, inside and outside corners. Oh, and you want ACA to do this automatically, right?
The way I would approach it may not be the best solution, but it will work and may cause you less headaches in the end. While you may be able to get this to work with an end cap style, you'll have to apply it. You could also use a body modifier, but again you'll need to apply it.
Here's my approach.
I'd create a profile of the trim piece you'd like to apply to each corner. Create a structural member style using the trim profile. Use the column tool to add them into your model, place them on a corner and copy them. You should then be able to use the anchor tool and anchor the object to the corner.
You could also use mass elements and copy them.
Again, not the best solution, not automatic, but depending on what you want to get out of it, it may be the quickest/best looking solution.
Make sense?
I keep trying to use a vertical wall sweep (which would be logical), but as I move the sweep toward the end of the wall (where the corner joins with a perpendicular wall) I get an error that the sweep is beyond the wall.
That's kinda why I suggested the SMS. I'm not a fan of sweeps and such. They have this tendency to sometimes cause more problems then they are worth. If you want to attach it to the wall, you should be able to use the Anchor tool to anchor the object to the wall.
I know it's extra work, but the KISS method is usually one of the better ways to go.
Sweeps do work good for somethings, but Sweeps and body modifiers lack a little luster IMHO. I think they could/should work better, but for now, I'm all about just creating another object.
