Default Export civil 3d data to xls or dbf?

    Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows how to export civil 3d pipe data to some sort of database format. Exporting a pipe network to xml and opening in excel gives a nice amount of data unfortunately it is missing one important thing for me, the entity handle. What I am looking for is:

    1. Entity handle -- pipe name -- slope -- material -- start invert -- end invert -- etc
    2. Entity handle -- pipe name -- slope -- material -- start invert -- end invert -- etc
    3. Entity handle -- pipe name -- slope -- material -- start invert -- end invert -- etc

Found an answer on the autodesk discussion forums. For anyone wondering it appears the best way is to usa vba customization to populate an excel spreadsheet. More information can be found in AU tutorials by christopher fugitt.

    Thanks

Do you by any chance have a link to make it easier for everyone?

    Thanks

Why do you want the entity handle?

I needed the entity handle because it is the only way to link the c3d database to objects in navisworks. Thanks again for the help Chris, it worked!

    Dan,
Keep in mind that even though "we" think the e-handle doesn't change for an object there are some editting commands that may erase an object then recreate it with a new e-handle breaking that link. As long as you don't edit the dwg afterwards you will be fine.

Thanks for the heads up -- currently I will need to export a new database everytime the file is updated anyways.
