Default File open makes autocad unresponsive

    Hi all,
I have a stand alone system (Win xp) with autocad LT 2007 with sp2 patch installed.
My problem started only 2 days back. I cannot "open files" or "save as" from autocad though the files can be opened directly from the explorer.
I have been to many forums and did all that I can. I have checked FILEDIA and CMDDIA are both set to 1.

I reinstalled it twice. For the first time after reinstallation, the File open works as long as autocad is open. But once it is closed and if we restart the program the file open doesn't work. Log off, restart, etc. etc... nothing works.

I even did a clean reinstall and because of which I had to go through reactivation again.
The files I am trying to open are local and not on network.
    Could anyone help !!! please!!!!
I need to work on a drawing and here I am stuck.
    Thanks

When you say "it doesn't work" - what exactly do you mean?
Do you mean that you initiate the command and AutoCAD just freezes?
Could it be that the OPEN/SAVE dialog box is just off the screen?

    Hi R.K.,

Thanks for your reply. I meant it does nothing .. I even waited for over 25 minutes ..just keep seeing the hour glass.

Anyhow I found the solution to the problem just an hour ago. one of the dll's pertaining to Norton 360 antivirus was conflicting. I just had to unregister the "buShell.dll" and it works perfectly. I found about that in another thread in AUGI Forum.
    Thanks to AUGI.
