Linetypes shown incorrect between Model and Paper Spaces

As and example: I have my "Ltscale" set to 36. When I am drawing lines in model space they show up as a solid line (although they are actually a phantom, hidden, center linetype), when I view it in paper space the line is shown correct (Phantom, hidden, center, etc...) This just started acting this way. In the past when I drew a line in model space the ltscale was showing correct. Does anyone have a fix for this issue. I am currently using Autocad 2009. Thanks

Also look here and this post for more information and options on automating your files; for toggling between MS & PS and viewing linetypes properly.

Not sure about 2007 and above though, works great in 2006 and below.

For any ACad 2008 and later, you set MSLTSCALE=1. Then depending on what your CANNOSCALE is set to the linetypes would be scaled accordingly.

For ACads prior to 2008 (or if you simply don't "want" to use the scales drop-down), Tedg's solution could work (with some modifications).
