    Default Content Browser Problems

    On some systems, ANYTHING I-Dropped to the drawing area does nothing, not even any errors. Even stock tool items.
    However, If we I-Drop the tool from the content browser onto the palette, the tool works from the palette (also works from design center).
    This is happening on ABS and ADT 2006 and on ACA-2008 and A-MEP 2008.

    I think it might be related to new MS Office 2007 installs since this is when all the trouble began.
    Tried re-installing the I-Dropper and ActiveX controls.

    I had this problem on AA2008Eng+SP1. Solved by restaring the computer and changing acad.exe.config file.

    Yes. This file places at c:\Program Files\AutoCAD Architecture 2008\ (for Windows XP 32 bit) and sould be like
    Code:
    <configuration>
      <startup>
    <!--We always use the latest version of the framework installed on the computer. If you
    are having problems then explicitly specify .NET 2.0 by uncommenting the following line.
    		<supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/>
    -->
        <supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/>
      </startup>
    </configuration>

    It's there in A2009 and A2010 (vanilla) too.

    No, I'd never noticed it before, either.

    Exclamation Re: Content Browser Problems

    We figured it out with help from Autodesk support.
    It was none of the solutions given above.
    The issue is, if you have any 2010 autodesk product installed, it breaks the I-Drop function in earlier version.
    The solution was to remove the 2010 products and do a repair install on the older products.
    Autodesk knows about the issue and are working on it.

    Big thank you on that!

    I will keep my eyes open for that issue when/if we get to upgrade.

    It is not quite any Autodesk 2010 product. You can load Design Review 2010 as long as you do not install DWG Trueview 2010. I did that as a test procedure yesterday. The ability to i-drop palettes from my catalog to my workspace was not broken after loading ADR. It was broken after I loaded TrueView.
