Hello

I try to set up a simple landscape and i would like to use a 16bit grayscale .psd or .tiff as base.

In fact, i played around with 8bit / 16bit b&w images in different formats and never had a good result. Everything looks like 8 bit heightmap.

I tried the paint mesh tool with map import, the displacement to polygon feature, heightfield... even the bump map looks ******.

The file has a size of 4092x4092 and needs 33Mb's of space (psd without layers).

Is there an option in maya to set or what's the problem?
