Control Start Tab behavior in AutoCAD 2016

Is there away to have only your current drawing open as only tab with out the start tab giving the appearance to be as if another drawing is open?

Sure, set STARTMODE = 0

I tried that, and setting it to 0 instantly got rid of the Start tab. I then set it back to 1, but the Start tab does not come back until AutoCad is shut down and restarted.

Regardless, I rather like the Start tab.

I did log this undesired behavior with Autodesk during last year's testing cycle; the engineering team did validate the issue, but I've yet to see any corrective action.

It's working as documented.

Not sure if it was designed this way from the beginning, or whether the Note was added as the "corrective action"
