Default Revit 7 - Graphic Cards + Configurations that Work with OpenGL / HWACC

Figured it would be easier to just start a new thread!

Same as last year, the desktops are OK:

    Win2000 SP4
    Intel motherboard
Asus nVidia FX5200 128Mb, using recent Asus drivers (not nVidia reference drivers)

    Win2000 SP4 - our training machines
    Intel motherboard
Intel integrated video 82865G, various driver versions all work fine

    WinXP SP2 - Dell workstations
Dell nVidia video cards, FX5200 and GeForce4, using Dell video drivers (not nVidia reference drivers)

Overlay planes worsen performance on all of these computers. Video performance without shadows on is the same as 6.1.

ATI 9800 on a ShuttleX mobo: OpenGL & Overlay work fine, but only with current driver from ATI.

ATI 9600 in a Sager 4080 laptop: Same as above.

    Graphics card:
    ATI RADEON 9700 PRO
    Driver 6.14.10.6483
3D settings OpenGL set to optimal performance

    Revit:
    Hardware acceleration on
Overlay I have turned off (just a "feeling" this is better no real speed increase/decrease)

    Note
    - 3D display in my experience is faster then in 6.1
    - Shadows are instant / when rotating the model they disappear, when releasing the mouse button
    the appear instant
    - If I set the 3D settings of the graphics card to custom settings and all parameters to maximum performance, the Revit display crawls in 3D. just accept the default settings

    Dell Inspiron 5160
    Windows XP SP2
nVidia Go FX 5200 with 64Mb RAM

    Dell video driver version A06

Considering the horsepower of the machine, this is not a terribly hot card to match up with it. Still, the card appears to function properly with Revit 7.

Later versions - A07 and A08 - of the driver do not appear to work properly with Revit.
