we have always scanned and traced. or gotten it from the county GIS and modified it.

Thanks, I am hoping there is a better, faster way than tracing. We used to do a save as on Yahoo maps and import the file into AutoCAD, but the quality was never good and it was hard to work with.

The terms of use for most/all free on-line mapping services do not permit commercial use of their maps, so pasting an image from Yahoo is probably not legitimate, and as such would not lend a professional air to your product.

What you may be able to do is research your state/local Dept of Transportation and see what maps they have available or online that can be used.

There is also the USGS as a source, and NASA's WorldWind application for public domain maps/imagery.
