Not sure if anyone else has seen this or has had this happen to them. A client of mine phoned in complaining that his alt+0178 command, to get square meters, wasn't working. The issue is that he would hold down alt and while he was waiting these tool tips would pop up all of a sudden. ( See Image Attached )

The thing is that this happens only in Autocad 2010 and Revit 2010. Seems like this is a new feature from Autodesk that wasn't documented at all. The only way to type in the alt+0178 command is to do so really quickly before the key tips show up.

The alt+**** shortcut for symbols is a known bug, does not work at all. See thread .http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=100538
This bug really p***ed me off !!

How's Shortcut Highway 2010 looking ? Any release date ?

Yep - It's a known bug of Revit.
You can bypass this bug by using Windows Character Map & Copying teh Symbol to Clipboard & then pasting it into the text field

Haven't seen what the new shortcut highway looks like yet. I know that there will be a lot of legwork though as the new interface will have changed things for the coders a bit.

Hmm, well I know that is a bit of an issue about don't know if it is really a bug as such. When I typed the command I wanted really fast it would give me the character. I think they just need to extend the time frame for the alt command or change it to a another spot completely.
