Rotating and Scaling Images to Match 3d view

I have a number of oblique aerial views that I would like rotate in 3d, so that the points on the image overlay points on the vertical imagery.
One idea I had was to find 3 points on the oblique images that match 3 points on the vertical images. The first question is how do you insert and manipulate images that are not in an xy plane? The last question, can this export correctly as a dwf?

The ALIGN command may do what you want with the image inserted on the xy plane.
Otherwise you'll probably need to look at the Raster Design add-on or similar "rubber sheet" image stretching software.

Using Align - here's what I am trying and not succeeding at.
First, trace the raster image with a 3d Polyline.
Align the 3d Polyline to the vertical image. 3 matching points (6 total)

If I could get this to work I would superhatch the image onto the 3d polyline or something.
I will just have to rethink the problem.

Your best bet will be rubbersheeting the oblique aerial. That's not AFAIK a vanilla Acad option, so your best option with Autodesk software will be the Raster Design add-on. or possibly Map3d?
