Default Project navigator - xref's set to overlay

Is there a way to automatically set constructs dragged into sheets to be an overlay xref instead of an attachment? Thanks.

Just curious, but why would it matter in the sheet set? The sheet isn't being Xref'd into anything. Or is it??

Yea, your right, in the sheets it doesn't matter. But between constructs is where the problem comes into play. We use each others constructs as backgrounds. I expected it to be an option in the project but I couldn't find anything. Any ideas?

That's weird because when I Xref a construct or element into another construct, it comes in as an overlay.
It's got to be a setting somewhere, but I don't know where. It could be in the code of the program itself.

If I understand correctly, you want to use, say, the electrical lighting construct for your reflected ceiling plan. Then when you get to a view, you think you should only need to attach your construct, and electrical construct will display, because it is attached.

If that's what you want, that's not the way PN works. When you set up the views, you select all the constructs for that particular view. The difference is in the case of elements.

No. When I drag their construct (architectural) into my construct (structural) I want to use it as a background. I do not want it showing up in my plot sheet. That's easy enough to change but I'd like it automatic.
