We are using Inventor 2009, and when I go to simply drag a component, either in an assy or otherwise it doesn't come along smoothly, does anyone know of a setting that will remedy this.
Thanks.

It sounds like the video card is stuggling for one reason or another.
I'd double check the video card against the list here. It could be as simple as changing a driver.
Assuming that the driver's up to par. The next thing I would try are on the Display Tab inApplications Options. There's a display quality pulldown that you can set to 'rougher'.
The appearance my not look as slick, since it'll drop detail during the dragging, but it may help address the 'Herky Jerky' factor.
Good luck!

I have experienced this on an nVidia GeForce 8800GTX card. For some reason, the software cannot load the drivers correctly and Inventor switches to software driven graphics display instead of the hardware. My fix is to close all Inventor docs, reset the Graphics Settings in the Application Options, close Inventor and reboot.
It happens sporadically.

Thanks you two I have tried both of those already, but to no avail.
Any other ideas, I do know it's not the graphics card, but instead a setting, as this problem has arose before and been fixed, but the fixer guy is gone, so I'm trying.
Thanks.

Have you tried going into your Nvidia control panel and setting the Vertical Sync to off?
Does it do it on small assemblies, or is there a lot of parts on the screen?
