Default Add attribute to block and then I can't see it.

Hi all, apologies if this has been asked before, but I did a search and couldn't really find anything similar.

Basically I have a dynamic block with defined attributes repeated a number of times in a drawing. I have edited it and added a couple of extra defined attributes to it and then saved and closed it. It has proceeded to run through the update to all the blocks in the drawing, but when it is finished I can't see the attributes and when I double click they aren't in the list of attributes to edit. The original ones are there, but the new ones aren't. When I go back in to edit the block everything is there.

I know it should work as I have done it on other blocks without a problem.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Jonathan.

any time you change attributes in a block definition after you have saved the block you must synchronize the attributes in the block for the new definition. to do this:

    1) type ATTSYNC at the command line or hit the synchronize attribute icon on the
    Modify II toolbar.

2)hit "S" and enter to physical select the block on screen or "N" and enter to type in the name of the block, typing "?" and enter will give you a list of blocks in the drawing.

    3) Then click on the block if your choice was "S" as selection method or type the block name if your choice was "N"

    4) AutoCAD will ask to confirm the choice hit "Y" and enter for YES

    5) The block will then be updated and you can then edit the new or adjusted attributes.

Thanks for the reply, I guessed it would be a setting of some sort. Unfortunately I am only using 2008LT with express tools so I am quite limited as to what I can do. ATTSYNC being one of them. Still gives me more ammunition for getting my company to get me full AutoCAD doesn't it.

ATTSYNC is a standard AC command ... maybe not available in LT ... maybe try the equivalent BATTMAN

Also, your questions mainly deal with dynamic blocks so it might be worth trying the dynamic block forums.

Yes, I hadn't spotted that one either, cheers John. Any more dynamic block questions I have will be put in there.
