    Default DWG import refresher

It's been awhile since I opened Revit. Long story but, I recall being told that when importing a .dwg into Revit you should avoid exploding. Trying to remember the alternative. Wasn't there a way to bring a .dwg into a revit project and make it editable without exploding?I'm taking over a partially completed project by someone else and pretty much annotating and dimensioning his work, (done in acad 2007), as well as providing a foundation and roof plan.
    Thank You

When you import an autocad file your essentially bringing in a solid block. I wouldn't want to have it any other way anyways as the minute you start having autocad files editable inside of Revit, it is like exploding the file which leaves you with thousands of lines everywhere making the project slow and bulky.

    AMEN!

If the .dwg needs editing do it in A/cad only. Is imported file linked? Hopefully it is, so any amendments can be updated without re-importing.
