Question Customizing AutoCAD 2000i (Pull down menus)

Can someone assist me in creating pull down menus within in autocad2000i. I would like to create menu's that I can insert symbols into a current drawing. I read through the autocad help for creating pull downs but it does not give me any examples as to associating the pull downs with the symbols I would like to insert. I found out how to creat the menu's at the top of the screen and how to load the. Autocad help only give me a example of a type of command. I would like to use the pull down menus for inserting symbols. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Scott

Before I go there, since 2ki will be retired in Jan, do you plan to upgrade? Because 2005 has a much better solution for what you want to do...tool palettes.

I work for a city municipality and we are under a budget not to spend any money. I am ready to upgrading, just need the ok to spend money on it. Till that time comes I am trying to make things more efficient in our office. Like customizing autocad. I have used building systems 2005 and know what you are talking about with the tablets. If you can help I am greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Search the forum (here) for Tool Palettes
and or Tool Palette Sharing there are some
    very good tips in there.

Or if trying to create your own menus, and tool bars
have a look inside Help file for menu customization.

The basics are, right click near a toolbar menu, and select customize...

Be sure to save a back-up copy of any standard menus BEFORE
you start with any of this.

How are tool palettes going to help someone using A2000i?
