Should be in Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options... > File Types tab. Then select DWG type and click Change. Select 'AutoCAD Application' and make sure check is in box next to "Always select this program when using this type of file".
This assumes you are using XP. It should be something similar in Vista, etc.
I have the same problem with AutoCAD and True view fighting over ownership of DWG files. If you are unable to set a specific program to Always Open your file, I have used the following technique.
After using TrueView to convert your file, close TrueView and all other DWG readers including AutoCAD. Then open AutoCAD from the start menu or desktop shortcut. When AutoCAD opens, it will see that it does not have ownership of DWG files and will take ownership at that time. Note you must close TrueView first to allow AutoCAD to regain control. Now when you double click on a DWG, AutoCAD will open instead of TrueView. Unfortunately, you will need to do this after every time you use TrueView.
