We are receiving drawings that are AutoCAD 2004 or 2005. We are wondering if we can use the latest version of AutoCAD LT to "Save As" the files into 2002 usable files.

Hi
Can't see why not, have you experimented / tried?
Be aware that you may lose some functionality ie If the drawing file(s) contain things like Fields / Tables / Sheet Sets / etc
Have a good one, Mike
We don't have AutoCAD LT in our office yet. Just wondering if anybody out there has had to do this before and how well it worked for them. Any comments or experiences with this would be helpful before we purchase it. Thanks in advance.
Simple answer is"YES you can'Originally Posted by markv5
Yes you can do that, i have also found an Autocad version covertor @ http://www.caddepot.com/dcd1/CAD_Uti...s/index-3.html. It is really handy for bulk saving to alternative versions (it will convert entire folders in one sitting.)
Autodesk has a Batch Drawing Converter on their website (for free - the best price out there!) that will also convert groups of drawings in one fell swoop.Originally Posted by fenlandhippie
One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is that when you save down, you technically can't save as an AutoCAD 2002 file - ACAD 2000, 2000i and 2002 were all the same file type, so you actually save down to ACAD 2000...just so you know when you go to do your save as.
I drink coffee for your protection.
