Default Importing Layouts in ACAD 2010

    Hi there.

I recently moved to a new office and a new computer, with a brand new installation of AutoCAD 2010. I brought with me all my costumization files and have been setting up everything to work as smoothly as I'm used to.

I have a template file I use as a basis for all my drawings, where I have all my text styles, dimension styles, etc, and my layout templates, complete with scaled paper borders and legends for the most common paper sizes, and prepared to use viewports with scales, and I adapted these to my new plotter configurations, and all looks nice in the template file. Problem is, when I import any of these layouts into another drawing (using import layout or the design center), the margins and legends are scaled on a 1/0,0254 ratio, ie, meters to inches. I work in meters, and I've set both drawings to have the INSUNITS system variable set to 6, so I don't get why is this happening. Am I forgetting some other setting I have to adjust?

    Thanks in advance

Check your template's settings using the Units command or DWGSetup if on a vertical flavor of AutoCAD.

Both drawings units were set to meters, and this is plain AutoCAD.

I ended up figuring this was happening because the template had the layouts configured to a previous installation from the same plotter, from a temporary computer I worked on before the current one arrived. After setting all layouts to the "real" plotter name, all is working now. Don't know why the wrong plotter setting would scale from meters to inches but it's working fine now.

    Thanks
