Default Wall Joints don't clean up when Copy Monitored

We have many walls in our architectural model that are attached to the roof or have edit profiles. However, when copy/monitor these walls in Revit Structure, the joints do not clean up. I can edit each wall joint and most of them will clean up, however, some persist and will not clean up and show a line going through them. Any ideas?

please see attachements of a generic model that poses the same issues.
