Allow Vertically Curved Pipes

Summary: Allow pressure pipes to follow the grade under a road with a vertical curves. The pipes would have the capability to have a vertical curve assigned to them as well.

Description: Incorporate a set of curved pipes or pressure pipes in a different parts catalog set.

How Used: Currently we are using road alignment designs to create our water layout designs. It's a little bit orge-ish, but it works, we would like to have it fully converted to where our street/road design input dialog box to cater a set of pressure pipes instead.

I concur with this. We basically just use a profile design and then back it to pipes for conflict review and profile display as a crossing but can't display the pipes due to the million pipe segments that show up.

Designing pipe "networks" for the Greater Cincinnati Water Works for over 20 years, I agree that Autodesk needs to address WATER PIPE design more closely.
Since we require the use of ductile iron pipe and fittings with a 100 year life expectancy, "curved" pipe is not an option. We try to base our designs using 18 feet lengths of compression joint pipe along with mechanical joint fittings. Of course, the pipe segments can be cut to shorter lengths but we also want to limit the number of joints in the system.
I would like to see Autodesk use the constraints of those materials to assist in water pipe design.
