Default Inserting fans based on a schedule.

    Hello all,
I am curious if this project sounds feasible. We have all of our products modeled in Revit, all familied with different sizes, configurations, etc (over 3,000 models). They can be selected from our software and a schedule is made (txt file). Can a program be made to import all of these models based from the text file? I know I can import models, but can I select the family member also. We would also want to make a box or pulldown that allowed the user to pick the ones they wanted, place them, and then be grayed out. If deleted, they would be selectable again. I am not looking for code to do this (but if you have some feel free to post), but am making sure this can be done. I am a Drafter/designer and my wife is a programmer, so I think we can tackle this. Thanks for any input.

Yes, all of what you mention is possible. There are several samples in the SDK that can illustrate these, as well as the solution on Jeremy's blog.

I read this blog (http://revittoday.blogspot.com/2009/...-xyz-text.html) and played along with the extension. It works for me in 2010.

    Greetings
