Converting DWG to either IGES or STEP files

Is there a way to convert an AutoCAD drawing to either an IGES or STEP file? I need to convert files for a customer as soon as possible and prefer not to have to spend money on a converter. The file has been already drawn up in a 3D format using AutoCAD 2010 (not MEP or REVIT).

I already tried IGESOUT AND STEPOUT just on the chance it might work but it did not.

I know there is a patch for this on the much older versions of ACAD, but we are always running the most recent versions so that is not an option either.

I also searched several forums and have not had any luck with this issue.

You mentioned the version of the DWG file, but what software do you have available to you?

I have access to AutoCAD 2010, AutoCAD MEP (2009 & 2010), REVIT (2009 & 2010), Microstation, and Visio.
