Offset Objects are sent to origen point

For not known reasons when I use offset command onto lines or shapes smaller than 1000mmx1000mm with closed angles lines like square, the offset lines do not appear next to the original line, instaead they appear gathered over the origin point. Does some one knows on any setting that may be cauysing this strange behaveour?
