Sheet Name - Limited Number Characters?

Hi there,

I'm using AutoCAD 2008.

After a couple threads of me begging for help, I think I have been able to collect your help into something productive.

The only thing that seems to hold me back right now is that the SheetName field seems to have a limited number of characters?
Can this be circumvented easily? Or am I kind of stuff with what's there?

What do you mean by "limited"? I guess I haven't run into that situation yet.

I am using the Sheet Set Manager (AutoCAD200

1. Right Click Sheet
2. Rename and Renumber
3. Sheet Title: seems to limit the number of characters I can punch in?

I am topping out at 64 characters.

No, this is unfortunately a built in limitation. If you need to write more you can use Custom Sheet Properties or Sheet Properties.

Wow, I did not know that. Guess I have not had a sheet name that long. Ever thought of abbreviating?

When we have 3 buildings on our site, they kind of need to be called up too.
Since Acad 2008 can't control multiple sheets like the properties pallete, I am using the easiest place to input sheet names, with the Rename Sheet function

I guess I see what you are getting at. I've got one that has some sheet names like "Basement Reflected Ceiling Plan - Building C". I think that's 45 characters, so I can see where you might run into that. Maybe in the future you can submit it to the wish list.
