    Default Learning more in depth

I think I have a good basic knowledge of the functionality for Inventor when creating parts, assemblies, and drawings. I think the iproperties, ilogic, iparts, and rules could benefit my drafting if I understood it. At this point it all looks Greek to me, and I'm not sure where to start. I don't like the online help files very well. I don't know if its really set up for step by step training for leading one thing into another, and can seem kind of vague at times.

Are there some basic steps that someone can guide me to for learning this area of Inventor? Do I start with rules, or something with parts, or is there something before this that I need a better understanding of? I want to be able to create smart parts, maybe assemblies, that I can set some parameters and have the program build it for me. Similar to the rail that they show in the tutorials (ilogic design forms).

    Thanks for any help.

My two cents, I would learn how to use iAssemblies and iParts before taking on iLogic. I would start with some books and/or online learning on Inventor there are plenty of well written ones.

Thanks, I have a book coming "Autodesk Inventor 2012 Essentials".

Where do "Rules" fit into this? Is this before, after, or during the learning curve of ipart and assemblies?
