    Exclamation LEED Documentation from Revit

Has anyone gone through the process of creating all of the schedules, parameters, and wrokflow required to achieve all of the necessary calculations for LEED. So far I have found a list of the credits that are achievable in Revit with the majority being in the SS and MR sections. If anyone has completed a template and would like to share or has any words of wisdom the help will be greatly appreciated. I thought there would be a lot more resources online since Revit and LEED are both emerging as the new standard in the industry.

There were several presentations at AU2008 on this:

    Revit Architecture: LEEDing the Way
    http://au.autodesk.com/?nd=class&session_id=2940

Sustainability Tools for Revit Architecture: The IES Sustainability Plug-in
    http://au.autodesk.com/?nd=class&session_id=2728

there are others including one on Ecotect. hope that helps some...

I posted a LEED Scorecard RVT, for free, on TurboSquid.
    1. Go to http://www.turbosquid.com/Revit-Market
    2. Uncheck "Revit Certified Only"
    3. Search for "LEED"
It has all kinds of sheets set up for LEED Documentation. I don't remember exactly where it came from, but I think it's good to share.

Hmm, sorry to hear that TurboSquid was more squid than turbo for you. It has had very many downloads from there, though. Being free helps its popularity, I reckon.

Here is the file (ver 9.1). If anyone knows who actually created it originally, please post.

Thanks for the LEEDs everyone. What I am really looking for is methods and best practices. I have been working on the calculated method for EQc8.1 but I have run into a snag. When there is multiple windows in a room I can't get the schedule to total the glazed area in each room before it decides to count the area. Even if I don't itemize every instance I still get the same result. I have attached a snapshot of how far I got in case somebody can help get me over the line. I'd be happy to post the file if anyone is interested in seeing how I got to where I am. I realize that gbXML and Ecotect/IES/GBS are better ways of doing this but at the moment buying new software and spending time figuring it out, are not in the budget. So I'm working with what I got.

Sometimes you're better off to export the schedule out as a delimited file, bring it into Excel, and do the calculations there. You can then re-import the Excel spreadsheet into autocad, then to Revit as a dwg, or print the Excel file as an image file and import that into Revit.

Attached is an example of one I did for LEED Credit MR 1.2. The schedule at the bottom of the page is an imported image file done in Excel.

Cool Re: LEED Documentation from Revit

Thanks for the help everyone. It's too bad it can't be done in Revit without exporting it out and importing it back, but ya gotta do what you gotta do. One for the wishlist I guess....

Search the Revit API forum. There is a free utility there that allows you to automate the copying from an excel spreadsheet into a Revit Schedule. Typically, I copy it into a Key schedule. This prevents the need to potentially screw up a set of drawings by linking in more and more DWG files, just to get the excel spreadsheets into Revit.
