    Default Hardware for running Ecotect

Does anyone have recommendations for the best hardware set up for running Ecotect? It seems like what are fairly simple analysis can take much longer than necessary?

    Here is what Autodesk says:

    Minimum Hardware System Requirements
    • Intel® Pentium® II processor or equivalent, 300 MHz or faster
    • 128 MB RAM or higher
    • 85 MB free hard disk space or higher
    • OpenGL® hardware accelerated video card
    • 1,024 x 768 high-color (16-bit) screen resolution or higher

    Now...I would recommend.

    Dual Core CPU
    2GB RAM

    Hope this helps.

Ecotect takes advantage of the video card pretty heavily so I would pay attention to that too. I don't have specific cards in mind but you clearly want really good OpenGL support on the card.

Hi - running previous PC with 2 gig caused Massive delay's when computating anaylsis for a typical shoe box residential house for inside/outside temperature.

Upgraded to 4gig and core 2 vPro with noticable improvement!

2gig is too slow for basic anaysis

    Cheers

The minute you run an analysis you need CPU, lots of CPU speed.

It is safe to say that in today's software - the more RAM the better.

    Hello folks,

I'm wondering about my renderings time. I've checked the windows task manager, while doing a radiance picture - it seems strange, that the software just takes ~15% of the cpu and round about 2gb of 8gb ram. Is there any way to allow etotect using more ressources to speed up "rendering"-time?

    Wish everyone a nice weekend.
