    Default RADIANCE software

Has anyone else had problems obtaining the 'RADIANCE' software which is described in the training packages? There is a link to 'Desktop Radiance' is this it? Seems that there is some out fo date info on the training packages....

The software ecotect using is the core engine of Desktop Radiance, RADIANCE is a software running under Linux.

What do you mean by the "software Ecotect is using"? You're able do do a 'lighting rendering' and calculation using Ecotect?

As far as I know, RADIANCE is an old software developed at the age of ACAD 2000. It can be runed on MS Windows. However, the rendering output is ugly. You don't really want to use it for daylight analysis at this moment.

You absolutely want to use radiance for day-lighting analysis, particularly if you are importing files rather than beginning with zones created in Ecotect.
Version 2.0 is old and it may still be in "beta," but its compatibility with Ecotect and IES greatly strengthens the capabilities of both of those programs.

Also if you are looking to run a LEED daylighting simulation you need to use a clear sky with sunlight, which can’t be done using the native Ecotect sky.

Thank you all for the replies. I was finally able to run the radiance on both an exterior and interior.
