    Default Workspace file location

Okay, I know the workspaces are in the CUI. My problem is this, we just installed new servers over the weekend. So I have the same computer but a new login, domain, etc. ACA is treating this as a fresh install, as it should. Since I no longer have access to my old login, how do I transfer my settings?

I can get the IT guy to copy and paste any files I need from my old login, so is there a way to just copy and replace a certain CUI file to get my custom workspace setting?

Wow, how did your IT department get away without migrating the profiles...?

Well anyway, you'll just need to know the menu file name. Find it, then copy it to where ever you want it to live and the load it using the ._MENU command.

IT does what it wants. Plus, bad planning on my part. I backed up everything and didn't think about my ACA settings. My fault.

So how do I know what the menu name is? It is a AWS file? Would it be the same name I named my workspace? Where are these files typically stored?

Most IT departments are paid to support the company and solve problems, not create them.

    1. If this is vanilla AutoCAD, and you were using the stock OOTB menu, then it's named "acad.cui".
    2. No.
    3. No.
    4. C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Autodesk\product\version\language\Support

Okay, got my workspace back with 2 small problems.

    1. No tool palettes. I just saved them to my network to avoid this in the future. the palettes opened, but none of the tools work. I assume this is because it's linked to design drawings under my old login. Best way to fix this??

    2. Ribbon is totally blank. There is an error with an RPC file in the ribbon panel that is pathed to the old login. I found this in the CUI. Everthing else shows up correctly in the CUI. It won't give me an option to repath the bad files. Any ideas on how to do this?

Okay. Problem 1 solved. I found a link that Dave K had on his blog. I went to my old login and copied and pasted the ADTSTOCKTOOLS.ATC file to my support folder under my new login. It was missing. Rebooted ACA and it worked! That was easy.

Now to figue out my ribbon issue....

Okay, opened my CUI in notepad and fixed all the bad paths. Now the ribbon loads without error but doesn't display anything. It has a message that no tabs or panels are currently loaded. In my CUI, all the tabs and panels and commands are listed under my ribbon. Why is it not loading?

I restored my backup CUI and it worked!!! Yeah, I'm in full production again!!! Now I have to get back to work.
