    Default Service Pack 1 Released

    All,

There is a new service pack for the 2010 Navisworks product line that fixes a number of bugs including the following:

    General Updates
•Clash Detective. Camera now transitions more smoothly between clash results.
•Object Animation. When adding a keyframe to the end of an animation the object movement now remains consistent.
•Comments window. The ID column in the Comments window is now labeled Comment ID.
•Hyperlinks and Smart Tags. Autodesk Navisworks now remembers Hyperlinks and SmartTags visibility settings between sessions. New Show Hyperlinks and Show SmartTags options have been added to the Options Editor (Interface node).
•Sectioning. The section bar slider now maintains correct settings when user switches between viewpoints.
•Collaboration. When using the collaborate function all window states now remain consistent.
    •AutoCAD Interoperability.
oAutoCAD elements are now correctly displayed on the Properties tab of the Selection Tree window.
oInstalling Autodesk Navisworks 2010 no longer causes issues with AutoCAD VBA customizations.
•Inventor Interoperability. You can now view Inventor 'surface models' in Autodesk Navisworks.
•IFC Interoperability. Improved support for IFC 2X2 files. Missing components and misplaced Geometry issues are now resolved.
    •Revit Interoperability.
oStructural usage text designated in Revit is now displayed in Autodesk Navisworks.
oWindow and door openings are now supported when exporting NWC files from Revit.
oRevit models modeled in mm now appear the correct size in Autodesk Navisworks.
•AutoCAD Visual LISP. Visual LISP feature of AutoCAD 2008 and 2009 now functions correctly after Autodesk Navisworks 2010 is installed.

    You can download here.

    Cheers

CHM files are prevented by the OS from being opened from a non-local location. Try copying the file to C: and reading it from there.

I have the same issue - the file opens but the error message replaces any contents.

I have no problem opening the file. However, I am using Vista, not XP.

We also tried on a Vista box with no luck...

Other .CHM files open, but not this one.

The following is a known service pack installation issue for customers with Autodesk Navisworks 2010 and Autodesk Navisworks 2010 for Manufacturing installed side-by-side. There are separate service packs for Navisworks 2010 and Navisworks 2010 for Manufacturing, each of which looks for its release of Navisworks Manage, Navisworks Simulate and Navisworks Review (in that order), when it finds one it checks to see if it is the kind of product it can upgrade and stops if it isn't.

If you have a mix of Navisworks 2010 and Navisworks 2010 for Manufacturing products you will need to:
    • Uninstall Navisworks Manage if applying the service pack to Navisworks Simulate
    • Uninstall Navisworks Manage and /or Navisworks Simulate if applying the service pack to Navisworks Review.
Once you have successfully installed the service pack then re-install Navisworks Manage and / or Navisworks Simulate and re-run the service pack.

For example, if you have Navisworks Manage, Navisworks Simulate for Manufacturing and Navisworks Review installed, to install the service pack for all products:
    1. Uninstall Navisworks Manage and Navisworks Simulate for Manufacturing.
    2. Apply the Navisworks 2010 Service Pack 1 to Navisworks Review.
    3. Re-install Navisworks Simulate for Manufacturing and apply the Navisworks 2010 for Manufacturing Service Pack 1.
    4. Re-install Navisworks Manage and apply the Navisworks 2010 Service Pack 1.”

Thanks for posting, but that's from the .txt file which I can read just fine... I'm having trouble with the help file (.chm).
