Is it possible to create a static section from a live section? Sort of like creating a detail (of sorts) from the actual model? The question was raised here - I didn't see a way to do it. Is it possible?
Thanks in advance.

No way that I know of doing it. What is it that you're needing to achieve, though? A standard detail?
That's a good question... I don't know. I'm not the one who wants to do it, but, being the CADD Manager I guess it's my job to follow up and find out if it's possible. If I had to guess, I'd say they'd want to be able to create some sort of "standard" (I.E. job-specific) detail. But if it can't be done, that's all I need to know.
Thanks!
I can see tracing it....then saving the linework.....but would be pretty nifty to be able to essentially "unlink" a section
(btw...thats an ArchiCAD feature....someone at your office been reading up on its capabilities?)

There are two ways to do this.
First is by using the Freeze drawings tool from the Revit MEP extensions Manager which basically turns the the section view into a drafting view.
Second is to save the view out as a CADdrawing then import the view onto a drafting view.
